The S'no Joke Ski Club is a Seattle-based, not-for-profit, all-volunteer organization and a member of the Northwest Ski Club Council. We exist to promote the sport of snow skiing and other recreational activities for our members.

Each winter the club sponsors alpine and cross-country ski trips throughout Western North America with occasional trips outside the continental US. Day trips are also planned to local ski areas.

But the fun doesn't end there as activities are slated for every week of the year. Come and play some volleyball, golf, bridge, or tennis. Or participate in cycling, roller blading, kayaking, rafting, hiking, water skiing, dancing or just plain socializing.

You're a skier but you don't want to go skiing by yourself or with the same people as last time (or maybe your friends discovered golf, TV or just grew out of having fun). Join our club and meet people who like to ski who are looking for other people to go skiing with!

Ski Trips

Besides writing the checks, the hardest part of a ski vacation is organization. S'no Joke Trip Leaders organize everything. The trips allow you to go to new places effortlessly. You go with people you've met or heard about and who you will see again. You only have to write one check. The trip leaders are phenomenal because their only compensation is a free ride and your appreciation for the success which they have achieved through a lot of hard work!

We have wonderful areas to ski at in the Seattle area. S'no Joke will help you get there with local ski area days, the hot line, car pooling, and our web site Message Board.

Web Site

The Club has our own web site, begun in 1999 and still evolving. You'll have access to the rest of the site and it's myriad sources of information about what is happening in the club.

Monthly Newsletter

As a member, you will receive a monthly newsletter which contains a calendar and a description of upcoming events. Prior to ski season, the trip leaders will describe their plans, the cost and the number of spots they have available. It's also full of all the clubby information about trips and personal milestones that are kind of a fun aspect of belonging to a club.

Try It, You'll Like It

Clubs are interesting. No one is motivated by the expectation of financial gain. In fact, the members are just like you. We want to be upbeat, have fun and sometimes generate that sort of social chain reaction that you haven't enjoyed for a long time. Anyway, clubs are groups of ordinary people who have a common theme, be it skiing bicycling or whatever. It's kind of fun to belong and maybe help out lead or just make yourself useful.

The key to getting the most out of one's membership is participation. Sign up for trips and events and/or volunteer to help or take a leadership role in activities.

Socializing

The S'no Joke Ski Club Social Committee invites you to become a member and add your own interests to its lengthy list of activities. Dancing, birthday parties, concerts, bridge, and social nights have always been enjoyed by Club members.

Sports

The Club remains VERY active after the snow melts. Some of the listed activities are well established while others are being promoted by a few avid members. The club needs people to participate and people to lead. We have lots going on all the time...

Regulars

S'no Joke is well established. It was founded in 1985 and currently has about 300 members. They'd be happy to talk with you but won't bore you with unsolicited lore and war stories.

You can attend our meetings; say your piece; hear others express their views; listen to speakers; keep abreast of current activities, win lift tickets and see your new friends and acquaintances.
