Hike Margaret’s Way Trail to Debbie’s View
Cougar/Squak Mountain
When: Wednesday July 22 meeting at the trailhead at 8:30 am. We will leave the trailhead promptly at 8:45.
Trailhead: Take exit 15 off I-90 (Lake Sammamish/ Hwy 900). Turn right and go south onto Hwy 900. Proceed on 900 (Renton-Issaquah Road) for 3.3 miles. Turn left at the easy-to-miss driveway with a large blue “Cougar Mountain Recreation” sign. The large parking lot is straight ahead. No permit required to park at the trailhead.
Hiking details: Approximately 6.8 miles round trip with 1614 feet elevation gain. Margaret's Way is a delightful 3 mile mostly shady forest ramble along wooded hillsides and near rushing creeks continuing on a moderate grade through silent sentinel trees culminating in Debbie's View, a lookout point with views of Mount Rainier and the surrounding foothills.
Please bring a beverage and a chair for a social visit after the hike.
