11/14 Update; due to last minute cancellations for all of the attendees, we are cancelling the social tonight.

What kind of mushrooms are growing in our WA state forests?

Come find out on Wed Nov 14th from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm

The Mycological Society will be giving a free talk about the mushrooms that are growing in the PNW.  Cathy Pike and I both belong to this group, it is a whopping $10/year to join, and then we get to go on mushroom hunts (forays) with them.  We got boletes on Sat at Deception Pass; quite tasty!

Turns out, we have some new members that know quite a bit about mushrooms, so we are going to make mushroom talks and hunts part of our new social offerings and since  mushrooms grow in the non-ski season, it is a perfect time of year to go.  You pass by fall mushrooms on every hike, so why not learn which ones you can cook?

Location: 1401 Poplar in Everett.  Depending on how many are interested, we can find a place nearby for dinner prior to the talk.

See you there!

Kary York, your host
