How to Register for a Ski Trip
How to Register for a Ski Trip
Note: Everyone must sign up themselves and pay for themselves.  Please do not expect trip leaders to apply your funds to another trip; it makes accounting for trips difficult for the club.

Below are the steps to sign-up for a ski trip. Note: if the trip is full you will be given the option to sign up for a wait list for that trip. As a spot opens, the trip leader will contact the next person on the wait list for that trip.

1. Log in to "www.snojoke.org";
2. On the Home screen, either
a) Select "Trips" then "Ski Trips"; and then choose "Sign Up!". Example: in the December Whistler trip box;
--or--
b) Go to the Event Calendar and select the trip from the calendar.

3. Select "Register Now" from the upper right;
4. On the "Event Registration-Personal Information", select "member" for "Select Registrant Type" if not already done;
5. On the "Event Registration Activities" screen, select the trip option you want, and then choose "Next";
6. Fill in the information requested on the "Event Registration-Additional Information" screen, and then choose "Next";
7. The Waiver box must be checked on the "Event Registration-Trip Waiver ";
8. "The Event Registration - Summary" screen will show what you have selected;
9. Click on "Complete Registration" which takes you to the last screen;
10. On the "Payment Page-Make Payment For (Your Name)" it will show the amount due (example: $200) which is the initial deposit. When you go back to make the rest of the payments due, you will come back to this screen and use the little pencil icon next to the amount box then change the amount to what is due then submit.
If you have difficulties or questions, please email help@snojoke.org

Making Payments and Payment Reminders
Making Payments and Payment Reminders

Payment Notes:
  1. Trip Deposit: You will have to pay the initial deposit when you sign up. You cannot register for the trip without paying. Deposits vary depending on the trip.
  2. MEMBERS: To make your progress payments following the initial deposit, log into the site. At the top right of the screen, you will see a red dollar $ sign by your name. Click on the red dollar sign to make a trip payment.

    The payment amount will default to the deposit amount, so to make your progress payment, click on the Pencil icon pencil iconand enter the new payment amount.

    Payment Reminders
    When you sign up for a trip, you will receive payment reminders each time you login into the S’no Joke website. These reminders are just to let you know that there is a balance due on your trip. If you just made a partial payment on your trip, the message will continue to appear as a reminder that there are payments due in the future.

    If you would like to dismiss this reminder message, you can do so by choosing the No, I won’t Pay Now button.
    Payment Popup Message

  3. NON-MEMBERS: If you are not a member and are interested in signing up for one of these great trips, please note the following:
    • Non-member fee: There is a $40 non-member fee.
    • Trip Payments: To make additional trip payments, locate the email you were sent upon registration. The link in this email will take you to your nonmember account. Click on that link to access the payment screen. If you can’t locate your registration email, contact the trip leader, or email help@snojoke.org.

    • Payment Processing Fees: There will be a processing fee of $2 to $5 (depending on size of payment) each time you make a payment. This processing fee is charged by ClubExpress, and it affects your total trip price.

    • a non-member can apply their $40 non-member fee to a full membership of $68 within 30 days after the trip is over.

Ski Trips Refunds/Cancellation Policy
Ski Trips Refunds/Cancellation Policy

Refunds/Cancellation Policy

The purchaser may cancel reservations up to 7 days after making the deposit without penalty. However, this grace period cannot extend past the final payment due date. Cancellations made by the purchaser after the grace period will incur a cancellation fee plus any additional charges for any unrecoverable expenses. The total charge shall not exceed the payment received.

If a trip participant cancels their reservation 90 days or more before the trip runs, and if a replacement participant has been found, then a refund, less the standard cancellation fee and less any nonrecoverable expenses, shall be refunded to the participant. The refund shall be paid within 30 days after the payment by the replacement participant has been received.

If a trip participant cancels their reservation less than 90 days before the trip runs and there is no financial impact or penalty to the trip funds, then any refund due, less cancellation fee and any unrecoverable expenses shall be refunded to the cancelling participant. Unless the trip participant cancels the trip within 7 days of making the deposit, the refund will be held until the completion of the trip and will be returned to the trip participant upon reconciliation of the trip account. In any event, the deposit shall be returned no later than 45 days following the trip's completion.

Cancellation Fees are based on the trip’s advertised price amount, which is the minimum purchase amount to be considered a participant in the trip. The cancellation fee for the non-recoverable credit card expense paid to Club Express the fees shall be as follows:

  • If the trip’s advertised price is $500 or less, the cancellation fee deducted from the participant’s refund shall be $100.
  • If the trip’s advertised price is $501 - $1500, the cancellation fee deducted from the participant's refund shall be $125.
  • If the trip’s advertised price is more than $1500, the cancellation fee deducted from the participant's refund shall be $150.

Cancellation Fees shall be credited to the trip’s account and may be used by the trip leader for the running of the trip.

No cancellation fee shall be charged to the participant if the trip has changed from what was originally advertised regarding dates, destination, mode of transportation, or if there has been a cost increase of more than 15 % from the originally advertised price. A trip participant may not sell their spot. If they are gifting their spot, they must pay for any associated expenses and notify the trip leader of their cancellation. Only the trip leader may sell or resell a trip spots.

Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance

You planned and saved for this trip, scheduled vacation time, and arranged for a pet sitter, but what about the unexpected storm that caused the airport to close and your flight to be cancelled. Lost luggage? An accident? Whether you’re traveling for a two-week trip to Europe, snowboarding for week in Tahoe or rafting the Grand Canyon, you’ll want to consider getting travel insurance to protect your travel investment.

Depending on the policy, travel insurance may provide for a wide range of coverage such as: trip costs due to cancellations or interruptions, trip delays due to lost or stolen passports, injury, sickness, natural disasters, baggage delays, lost or stolen sports equipment and personal effects, etc.

Travel insurance is optional, however, we recommend purchasing travel insurance for trips with a significant expense.

Here is a list of travel insurance websites for you to consider:
The following travel insurance site may also be useful for trip insurance comparisons:
http://www.insuremytrip.com/

IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure to read the list of coverages and exceptions. For example, travel insurance won’t cover a COVID cancellation unless one actually contracts the disease.

Disclaimer: S’no Joke Ski Club recommends trip insurance but DOES NOT profit in any way from the purchase of it by our membership.  Members are responsible for their own travel insurance purchases and policies.  Travel insurance is not available for purchase on the club website.
